On 13 September, the first Digital Logistics Award was presented by the Logistics Digital Hub in Dortmund. Startup and startin teams from all around Germany had been invited to submit their projects to the competition.

A jury of experts selected eight teams of finalists from a large number of applications; these teams presented their ideas to the expert audience at the Congress on the Future of Logistics. Audience voting then determined the three winning teams. MotionMiners came in first place, offering a digital solution to analyse and optimise industrial processes. The technically optimised VTOL drone from the team developing Wingcopter came second. LoadFox, in third place, aim to optimise freight transport via a load-sharing platform.
